Due to popular demand, the Bracegirdle’s House of Fine Chocolate bus is back at Mount Lofty Botanic Garden! Catch Ma and Pa Bracegirdle every Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday (unless the garden is closed due to extreme weather) until Christmas and then again from February to June 2022.

From 10am-4pm, we’ll be offering a selection of hot and cold drinks, and sweet and savoury snacks. Enjoy an almond croissant, vegan raspberry croissant, brownie, sausage roll, toasted sandwich and more with a delicious coffee, hot chocolate, or iced beverage!

Why not make a day of it? Bring a picnic rug and relax on the lawn for morning or afternoon tea after a delightful meander through the gardens.

See you there!

We are thrilled to announce that one of our newest creations, Mandarin, won Champion Chocolate (the top award) at this year’s SA Dairy Awards!

Adelaide chocolate giant launches savoury winter warmer menu

Bracegirdle’s House of Fine Chocolate is thrilled to launch their revamped menu now that COVID-19 restrictions have eased in South Australia and patrons can, once again, dine in.

The local South Australian family-run business is Australia’s most awarded artisan chocolatier, has been voted Adelaide’s best hot chocolate, and is perhaps most well known for their exclusive blend of coffee and unforgettable desserts.

Now, with 15 years and five cafés under their belt, Sue and Garry Bracegirdle are making a concerted effort to provide a larger offering to customers.

“As much as we love chocolate, we realise that not everyone wants it for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” said owner, Sue Bracegirdle.

“We’ve tinkered with savoury dishes on the menu over the last nine years and never quite got the balance right, but our chefs have come up with some delicious new additions that are a bit more contemporary.”

The new menu has dishes spanning breakfast through to dinner and includes traditional favourites along with some brand new, mouth-watering, belly warming options:

  • Texan Platter: Slow cooked sticky smoked pork ribs with crispy buffalo wings, onion rings, coleslaw & blue cheese dipping sauce
  • Burrito Bowl (v): A bowl of rice with coriander salsa, refried beans & avocado. Option to add spiced chicken & sour cream.
  • Fiesta Loaded Fries (v): Mexican salsa, kidney beans, rich tomato sauce & avocado on fries. Option to add lamb mince, bacon & sour cream.
  • Karaage Chicken: Japanese marinated chicken pieces served with an Asian slaw, rice & spiced mayo dipping sauce

But don’t worry, there are still plenty of options for the sweet tooth! French toast, Belgian sugar waffle with fresh strawberries, banana, yoghurt, maple syrup, toasted almonds and bacon, and their delectable desserts aren’t going anywhere.

Sue’s husband and co-owner, Garry Bracegirdle, hopes the new menu encourages people to see that Bracegirdle’s is more than just chocolate and entices them to give the café a try.

“Our primary aim has always been to provide our customers an experience; welcoming, homely atmosphere, great service, and quality food, so that’s what people can expect.”

“It’s also really important to us that we use locally sourced ingredients where we can, so we’re supporting the local communities that support us.”

Bracegirdle’s cafés are located at Glenelg, Blackwood (licensed), McLaren Vale (licensed), Westfield Marion and Clarence Gardens for dine in and takeaway.

Bracegirdle’s cater for a range of dietary needs. The new menus contain gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options.

Menu items may vary from café to café.
